Ball-in-Court and Cc Notifications

Use the Ball-in-Court (BIC) and Cc fields to assign and notify users on a specific item, such as an RFI, Submittal, or Action Item.

  1. Type to search for the user's name or email address in Ball-in-Court (to assign or pass the item on to another person) or Cc (to notify them).

    Note:

You can only search for and add users who have been invited to VPO.

  2. Click the user's name to add them to the field. You can only select one person for Ball-in-Court, but you can add multiple people to the Cc field.
  3. When you save the item, notifications will be sent accordingly:
    - If the Ball-in-Court has been changed, an email will be sent to the new BIC and all who are on Cc.
    - If a new name is added to Cc, an email will be sent to only the BIC and the new Cc user.

If you receive the message, "We couldn't find an exact match," when saving:

This message indicates an issue with your browser's cache. To resolve this, please see Clearing Browser Cache for how to clear your cache.

If you have been added as the BIC, you will receive an email notification.

You will only be notified when BIC has been changed to your name from another person or blank. You will not be notified of edits to other fields unless notifications have been setup for changes to these fields. Notifications are setup with assistance from your VPO Solution Consultant.

If you are not receiving expected notifications:
- Check your Junk/Spam folders, as automated emails can occasionally be sent to these folders.
- Ensure that the email address you are using in VPO is not a Group Email or an Alias address, as these are not supported for notifications.
- For questions, please contact us at [email protected].
