Syncing and Downloading Libraries

There are two ways to make VPO files available on your device. You can download copies of documents and libraries or you can sync them to your device.

Downloading gives you full control of copies of the files once they’re on your device. You can read, edit, and delete files without affecting the live versions in VPO.

Syncing allows you to access the live versions of VPO files from your device and is permission-based. For example, if you have read-only access to a library in VPO, you will not be able to edit or delete the library's files from the synced folders on your device. If you do have the permissions needed to edit or delete the files, the changes you make to the synced library will be reflected in the live files in VPO as well.

  1. Downloading Files from VPO

To download folders or files from a document library:
    a. Select the items you want to download or click the checkmark at the top of the page to select all items.
    b. Click Download.
    c. Your browser will download the files into your default download folder.

  2. Syncing a Library from VPO
To sync a document library to your device:

    a. Navigate to the library in your browser.
    b. Click Sync.
    c. If prompted, sign in with the work credentials you used to access the project in VPO.
    d. Now you can access the files and folders from your device.

    Note:

Remember that in a synced library, all changes you make will also be made in VPO.

  3. Stop Syncing a Library in VPO

    Important:

If you no longer want to sync a library, do not delete the files or folders from your device, as this would also delete these items in VPO.

To end syncing with a library:
    a. Click the OneDrive icon in your task bar.
    b. Click Settings.
    c. Click Stop Sync next to the library name.
